His Dark Materials Anniversary Readalong!

A His Dark Materials readalong? Why, how marvellous! I hear you think. Well, quite. This coming March, I will be joining bloggers Michelle, Jo, Laura, Andrew and Stephen to host just such a spectacular event to mark the 20th anniversary of its publication. All five of us will be leading twitter-based discussions about both the original trilogy; Northern Lights (or The Golden Compass in the US), The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass, as well as spin-off novellas Once Upon a Time in the North, Lyra’s Oxford and audiobook The Collectors.

If you’ve never read Pullman’s classic YA series, or you just feel like it’s time for a re-read, now is the perfect time! Personally, I haven’t read this series in about 5 or 6 years – when I first cracked open their covers – and there’s a lot I’d like to rediscover and re-encounter!

If you’re joining us, make sure to get your copies by March 2nd, which is when it all kicks off, and don’t forget to use the #HDMreadalong hashtag on Twitter! And if you’re looking for some fancy images to advertise the readalong, I’ve attached all the offical promo at the bottom of this post.
