News Roundup #8
So, it’s been about a month or so since the last YA book news roundup, but there are a few gems today!
First off, if you live in the US, you can download an eBook of the first Skulduggery Pleasant novel (titled The Sceptre of the Ancients) for FREE! However, the offer only lasts until Hallowe’en, so I suggest you get downloading quick! Click here for the full details.
The title of the next Lorien Legacies novel has also been released: The Rise of Nine, which will be the second sequel to I Am Number Four, after The Power ofSix. The Rise of Nine will be publishing on the 30th August 2012, so it’s still a long wait!
And then, some rather large news for John Green fans: the cover of The Fault in Our Stars has been revealed- to mixed reviews. However, the cover is supposed to be very relevant to the story, and as Hank Green said, it’s the sort of cover publishers give to books they expect to be classics. John Green’s wife, who has already read the boook, also wrote an intruiging Tumblog praising the cover. And she’s the curator for a big art museum!

As well as that, due to the huge response in covers that infiltrated the internet for The Fault in Our Stars, Penguin has also opened a unique competition where one person will be able to redesign the cover for An Abundance of Katherines, Green’s second novel.
And lastly, you can read the first chapter of the 5th Henderson’s Boys novel by Robert Muchamore, Prisoner, publishing February 2012. As well as that, Muchamore has announced the title of the 6th novel, One Shot Kill, publishing November 2012.
And as well as those two novels from Muchamore, the sequel to People’s Republic in the Aramov series, titled Guardian Angel, is due for publication in August 2012, and a graphic novel of the first CHERUB novel, The Recruit, will also be released during the summer of 2012.
